Searching through some old prints, I came across this on. This was taken at Fawsley Hall. The very last occasion the Gold Circle met for their annual event.

Kodak Gold was the most difficult accolade to achieve, in this photograph.

Left to right, Stu Williamson, Mark Cleghorn, David Ward, Kevin Wilson, Trevor Yerbury seated and the late great David Facey.

This photograph was taken to commemorate the collection of 101 Kodak European Gold Awards

East Close Hotel Winter Wedding in the Snow

In all the years I have ben covering wedding photography, I have never had an opportunity to actually photograph a bride in the snow. Often the bride will not want to go out in the snow.
Paula was great to work with, she was so thrilled to find snow on the morning of her wedding.
Congratulations to both Paul and Paula on your wedding day.

I am pleased to announce that my next training day will be on 23rd February 2011 at the stunning venue; Milton Abbey. Beautiful Milton Abbey is nestled in a remote part of Dorset and it's imposing buildings are perfect for a truly hands on workshop with one of the worlds finest classical wedding photographers. These workshops are very popular and spaces are limited, so contact me by email or phone today if your are interested. I look forward to hearing from you, Kevin.

"Hi Kevin, Just to thank you once again for a fab day in Milton Abbey, it was truly inspirational as always. No matter how qualified you are, how experienced you are or even how good you think you are, I would recommend anyone who wants to go forward in wedding photography should go on at least one of your workshops, if they do they will be hooked, there is always something else to learn or simply brush up on. Both Lesley & I had a great day with you, it was also nice to meet other great photographers wanting to better themselves....Thanks to you all for a great day." John Paine.

Looking through some of my Dorset, Hampshire weddings of this last year, in particular this beautiful capture taken by my assistant. I was suddenly struck by the similarity of this particular bride, Sophie and Jackie Kennedy.

New Identity

Christmas has come early, my new stationery and folders arrived this weekend and they look fabulous. I am really proud of my new identity, especially the business cards. Anyone attending my Milton Abbey class will be the first to receive one of my folders, along with some information from the day.

I would like to say a big thank you to Giles, who has evolved my brand has given me an identity that compliments my style and elegance.

Emotion:

I always feel a real sense of achievement on a wedding, when true emotion shines through and how a moment can change so quickly. A genuine tender moment captured when the Heather was visited during her preparations on the wedding day.

Wedding Photographers in Dorset are particularly lucky to have stunning venues, this one being Athelhamton House, Puddletown Dorset. The 15th century building is majestic and unique with their magnificent manicured gardens. The Great Hall is one of my particular favourite locations , here it has been adorned with human beauty in this creation of Jocelyn, married just recently.
Available light and reflectors placed carefully.

BIPP Workshop

As an alternative to the full length image I posted yesterday. This is a close up with the veil providing the softness.

Once again, rim lighting was employed and filled with a subtle use of reflector, I wanted to retain the atmosphere, one of serenity.

High ISO was used in combination with a large aperture to enhance the effect, no softening was required.

The purpose of this training day was just to learn how use natural light in combination with various Lastolite reflectors.
